EXCLUSIVE: Pres. Tinubu Meets With Gov Fubara, Wike, Rivers Lawmakers, As Reconciliation Efforts Intensify
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has held a high-level meeting with key political stakeholders from Rivers State, including Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martins Amaewhule, and other members of the Assembly.
Details of the meeting are yet to be fully disclosed, but it comes amid ongoing efforts to seek a lasting reconciliation and ease political tensions in the state, especially with the passage of the Rivers State N1.485 trillion 2025 budget and the confirmation of the new RSIEC Board to conduct the earlier scheduled August 9, 2025 LG polls in the state, by the National Assembly.
This latest meeting has raised hopes that a possible reconciliation of all the contending parties has now been achieved and is awaiting the official pronouncement and confirmation following the strategic political intervention by the Presidency.
It also strongly suggests that the March 18 State of Emergency which President Tinubu proclaimed on Rivers State is now going to be lifted sooner than later.
