OSUOZA CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF 20.95KM TRANS WARRI-ODE-ITSEKIRI ROAD PROJECT, SALUTES GOV OBOREVWORI'S EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Thursday, December 4, 2025 made a bold, historic and heartwarming announcement to Deltans, when he declared that 20.95 km Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road, which was awarded by the Chief Onanefe Ibori, in 2006, has finally been completed.

Posting on his verified social media Facebook handle, Governor Oborevwori wrote: "We are proud to announce that yesterday marked the completion of the featuring 15 bridges of various spans. With this, the project is essentially complete — 19 years after the contract was first awarded.

"This is a landmark achievement and a deeply cherished milestone for the Itsekiri people. A promise made, and a promise kept.

"We give God Almighty the praise for bringing this vision to reality. The project is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of next year."

It would be recalled that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori had, in September 2024, actually expressed his vow and unflinching determination to complete this very critical and geographically symbolic road infrastructure when, during an on-the-spot assessment of the 20.95 km Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Bridges and Access Road project from the Ifiekporo axis of Warri upland to Ode-Itsekiri, the traditional headquarters of Itsekiri people, declared unequivocally and with his now legendary conviction, that the project will be completed “within the next two years”.

The announcement of the completion of the project, not only signifies the fulfilment of that proclamation, it is also a manifestation of the delivery of another landmark legacy project to Deltans, who are now witnesses to the unfolding history of Governor Oborevwori's steady, steadfast and unwavering commitment to enhancing Delta and providing the dividends of the MORE Agenda with Renewed Hope to the people.

Celebrating this magnificent feat in a statement on his social media handle, the Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza, gushed with excitement, extolling the exemplary, focused, inclusiveness, responsible stewardship and people-centred governance of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, which has ensured that this long-awaited dream has finally become reality.

He wrote: "Wow! We extend our profound commendation to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to delivering impactful infrastructure across our dear State.

"Yesterday marked a historic milestone as the 20.95 km Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road, complemented by 15 sturdy bridges of various spans, reached full completion, a feat that comes 19 years after the project was first awarded. Under Governor Oborevwori’s focused, people-centred governance, a long-awaited dream has finally become reality.

"This achievement stands as a landmark victory for the Itsekiri nation and a shining testament to the Governor’s dedication to equity, inclusiveness, and responsible stewardship of public trust. Indeed, a promise made is now a promise fulfilled.

"We give all glory to God Almighty for granting the wisdom, strength, and favour that brought this monumental vision to fruition. With anticipation, we look forward to the formal commissioning of this transformative project in the first quarter of next year.

"Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has once again demonstrated that leadership, when driven by sincerity and purpose, can change the story of communities and uplift generations.
