Today, we celebrate a man whose pen, passion, and principles continue to inspire a generation—Comrade Philip Elueme, a towering figure in the media landscape and a brother whose dedication remains unmatched.

Comrade Elueme is not just a writer; he is a custodian of truth, a defender of heritage, and one of the most consistent advocates of Anioma identity and history. For the past sixteen months, he has followed, analyzed, and documented the journey toward the proposed Anioma State with uncommon courage—telling the world the good, the bad, and the uncomfortable truths that many would shy away from. His commitment ensures that our story is told with accuracy, dignity, and purpose.

Personally, I hold Comrade Elueme in the highest regard. His magical writing has shaped my own understanding of the craft, and I remain grateful for all I have learnt from him. As the Head of the Senator Peter Nwaoboshi Media Group (SPON MEDIA), he has been a pillar of strength—guiding us, motivating us, and ensuring we uphold the highest standards of professionalism. His leadership is inspiring, his counsel uplifting, and his brotherhood priceless. Truly, he is one of the best colleagues and brothers I have ever worked with.

DELTA BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF LANDMARK ASABA WATERFRONT CITY

Delta State Government has commenced construction of access road to the proposed Asaba waterfront city in the state capital.  Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who disclosed this during the inspection of the project on Tuesday, said the project was conceived by the previous administration through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model.  He said the state government’s role was to construct a 6-lane access road to the new city, while the developers were expected to reclaim the land and develop the city.  He said: "Asaba is becoming very attractive to property developers who are coming from Lagos to Asaba because Asaba today is housing most of those people from the South-East.  "They are coming here because they find Asaba very comfortable and they know that we are also hospitable.  "The Asaba waterfront city project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement between the state government and the developers.  "Our obligation is to reclaim the place to give ...

Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas CFR was born on 27th of September 1960. He is a retired Navy vice admiral, who was the 22nd Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of the Nigerian Navy from 2015 to 2021. Ibas was born in Nko, Cross River State. He enlisted into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of 26 Regular Course on 20 June 1979 and was commissioned sub-lieutenant on 1 January 1983. He began his primary education at Nko Primary School, Nko, in 1966 and completed at Big Qua Primary School, Calabar in 1971. He then proceeded to the prestigious Hope Waddell Training Institute Calabar from 1972 to 1976. Between 1977 and 1979, he attended the School of Basic Studies Ogoja before proceeding to the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1979.
