Fubara’s Defection: A Case Of Self-inflicted Injury – PDP

Image
FUBARA’S DEFECTION: A CASE OF SELF-INFLICTED INJURY The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has received the news of the formal defection of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara the Governor of Rivers State from our Party to the ruling party. This news as pitiful as it is, is an exemplar of the old legal maxim Volenti non fit injuria, meaning “to one who is willing, no harm can be done”. Everyone who has followed the developments that culminated in this uneventful defection, will recall that the Governor willingly travelled the path that took him to this destination. Having done so voluntarily, he cannot turn around and accuse our party, or any other person or group of abandoning or not protecting him. Whilst a person who is at a crossroad of threats of existential proportion, will most likely suffer from temporary amnesia caused by trauma, the Governor should have nothing less than praise for our party, civil society organisations, and all Nigerians who freely ...

OKEZE DYNASTY OF SERVICE: HON. ONYEISI OKEZE EMERGES AS A TRUE HEIR TO HIS FATHER’S LEGACY

Image
- By Ike Philip Abiagom   The story of Hon. Onyeisi Okeze is not just the story of one man—it is the continuation of a noble lineage of truth, courage, service, and deep-rooted cultural heritage. In Igbuzo, the name Okeze has long stood tall, carried with pride by the late Obi Nwaokocha Okeze, a revered traditionalist, community mouthpiece, and one of the most respected defenders of truth Umueze ever produced. Today, his son, Hon. Onyeisi Okeze, walks firmly in those same footsteps. Hon. Onyeisi Okeze, widely acknowledged as a true son of his illustrious father, has emerged as a strong voice for the masses across Igbuzo. Known for his unwavering honesty and a moral compass that never bends under pressure, he has become a reference point for integrity in community leadership. BENIN COUP: ADC Commends Nigeria's Swift Intervention, Charges Pres. Tinubu To Act Decisively In Addressing Domestic Insecurity, Other Challenges

Image
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) welcomes Nigeria’s swift intervention in the Benin Republic following the announcement of a coup attempt. We commend the Federal Government for acting promptly to defend constitutional order in our neighbourhood. However, in doing so, the government must now take the necessary steps to align this intervention with the legal provisions of our Constitution. While the unilateral action taken by the President might have been expedient, it still has to be subjected to the ratification of the National Assembly as required by the relevant sections of our Constitution for military or security deployment outside Nigeria’s borders. Even in commending the government, ADC cannot ignore the question that many Nigerians are already asking: why were we not as swift in responding to the crisis in Guinea-Bissau, even when a former Nigerian President was trapped there during a period of instability? That hesitation stands in sharp contrast to yesterday’s urgency. Wh...

PDP Accuses Wike, Loyalists Of Deepening Illegality, Weaponizing Absurdity

Image
Press Release Wike & Co. Caretaker Committee Limited: Deepening Illegality, Weaponising Absurdity The purported constitution of a so-called National Caretaker Committee by Nyesom Wike and his friends, clearly designed to coordinate their personal political affairs, would have passed unnoticed, just like the drab audience of their sympathy party, if they had not attempted to falsely cloak it in the name of the Peoples Democratic Party- a party that had duly expelled them, with certificates as evidence. The activity they claim to have undertaken is one they clearly lack the authority to carry out, even if they were still members of the party. For the avoidance of doubt, all organs of our party, particularly the National Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees, remain intact and under the legitimate leadership of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN. These organs are led by dignified individuals, who cannot be procured or commodified in the manner that has become the signature modus operan...

IBUSA COMMUNITY RAISES ALARM OVER SUSPECTED SHORT-CHANGING ON ACHALLA–IGBUZO ROAD PROJECT

Image
- By Ike Philip Abiagom   The people of Ibusa (Igbuzo) have expressed deep concern over what they describe as an alarming case of unequal construction standards on the ongoing Achalla–Igbuzo–Asaba road project. A recent visit to the construction site revealed a shocking disparity between the portion of the road executed on the Asaba axis and the section extending into the Achalla–Igbuzo corridor. According to eyewitnesses ( Newsbreeze Crew) and Community monitors, the Asaba section of the road boasts a well-constructed dual drainage system, a wider road width, and a visibly superior construction pattern. However, upon reaching the boundary between Asaba and Achalla–Igbuzo, the road suddenly becomes narrower—with no visible drainage works ongoing or prepared. The stark contrast has raised red flags and stirred fears of deliberate short-changing. Newsbreeze crew and Community representatives who confronted the site Engineer  were initially assured that drainage installations wou...

NEW PHONE ROBBERY TRICK IN ASABA: KEKE (TRICYCLE) GANGS DEVISE SMART METHOD TO STEAL PASSENGERS’ PHONES

Image
- By Ike Philip Abiagom   As the festive season draws closer, residents of Asaba, Delta State, are being urged to stay vigilant following the emergence of a new and increasingly common trick used by Keke robbers to dispossess unsuspecting passengers of their mobile phones. According to multiple reports gathered across the metropolis, a syndicate operating with commercial tricycles has devised a coordinated method that exploits the trust and distraction of passengers. The scheme typically begins when a passenger boards a Keke already carrying two or three occupants. After moving a short distance—usually two or three electric poles—the driver suddenly brings the tricycle to a halt, pretending that the Keke has developed a mechanical fault. Witnesses say the driver then steps out and, with a sense of urgency, asks the passengers to assist him in lifting the Keke so he can “shake the fuel tank” or “check the carburetor.” Believing it to be a harmless request, unsuspecting passengers jo...

PDP Flays Rivers Assembly Members For "Redefection From APC To APC"; Vows Legal Action To Recover Party Mandate

Image
Press Release The ‘Redefection’ of the Rivers State Assemblymen We have seen on various media platforms news of the redefection of some members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who, for a second time, announced their defection from our party. We recall that they had done so earlier and later recanted. These are people whom the world is aware are doing the bidding of their paymaster and demigod. The members of the Rivers state House of Assembly have by their actions since they assumed office, shown that they are political puppets and a clog in the wheels of democratic progress. They will go down in history as enemies of democracy and those who made mockery of the legislature.   So the easiest way to describe their action is a defection from APC to APC. Consequently, the @OfficialPDPNig will take legal steps to activate the provision of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria(1999 as amended) to recover the mandate gained under the banner of our party which the...

Image
