IGBUZO CELEBRATES FOOTBALL LEGEND, ONOWU FRANK ONWUACHI (MON), WITH EXCITING NOVELTY MATCH
The St. Augustine’s College football pitch, Igbuzo, came alive yesterday as the community gathered to honour one of its greatest sports icons, former Green Eagles star, Onowu Frank Onwuachi (MON), with a thrilling novelty football match that rekindled memories and united generations.
The special match, played between members of the famous old “Sunday–Sunday” football teams, drew laughter, nostalgia, and admiration from spectators who watched seasoned football lovers relive their vibrant playing days. The atmosphere was electric, filled with camaraderie and celebration in tribute to a man who brought pride to Igbuzo through his outstanding contributions to Nigerian football.
Prominent personalities graced the event in honour of the celebrant, including Sir & Lady Dr. Osy Nwadei, Sir & Lady Paul Okobi, Engr. & Lady P.C. Okonji, Onowu & Buchi Nwadei, Hon. Olevel, Hon. Henry Onianwa, Sir Gilbert Okonji, Sister Nwabuma Ajufo, Apostle Blessing Onwuachi, Mrs. Cordelia Onwuachi, and Mr. Emma Amatokwu, popularly known as Kwasa.
