Delta Governor's CPS Bags Prestigious Friend of the Press Award

The Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, has been bestowed with a prestigious special recognition award as a friend of the press by Inside-Out Limited, operators of Trend 100.9FM. 

The esteemed honour acknowledges Sir Ahon's unwavering dedication to promoting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's M.O.R.E. agenda, showcasing his exceptional support for the state's development initiatives.

He received the award during the 10th-anniversary celebration of Trend 100.9FM in a colourful ceremony held in Asaba on Sunday, which recognizes Sir Ahon's tireless efforts in highlighting key government projects, including investments in human capital and infrastructural development. 

While presenting the award to the Chief Press Secretary, management of the radio station,  noted that Ahon's contributions had been instrumental in shaping public perception and fostering a positive image of the Oborevwori's administration.

Represented by an Assistant Director of Information in the Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Mr. Ivovi Aruoriwo, the CPS expressed gratitude for the recognition, congratulating Trend 100.9 FM on its decade-long commitment to impactful programming and balanced reporting, making it a listeners' delight. 

The Chief Press Secretary, dedicated the award to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, expressing profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the administration. 


Ahon also acknowledged the Government House press corps, acknowledging their collaborative efforts for his success, as he accepted the honour with humility.

Other notable awardees included Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Ms Orode Uduaghan, Oshimili South Local Government Council Chairman, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili, Director General, Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta and veteran broadcaster and Executive Assistant to Governor Oborevwori on Sports Development, Mr. Harrison Ocholor amongst others.
