Delta Security Trust Fund Receives Major Boost, As Tompolo Makes Huge Donation To Support Initiative

High Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide  Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, made an outstanding donation to support the Enhanced Peace and Security initiative of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's MORE Agenda, as the administration launched the Delta Security Trust Fund, in Government House, Asaba, 

The Delta State Security Trust Fund is an initiative of the Oborevwori administration, which seeks to mobilize resources to strengthen security infrastructure, enhance intelligence gathering, and improve coordination among security agencies across the state.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), who was the Chief Launcher at the historic event, reaffirmed his commitment to peace, collaboration, and sustainable development in Delta State.

Chief Keston Pondi, Managing Director, Tantita Security Services Ltd, who announced the donation on behalf of Chief Ekpemupolo, also delivered his address, below:


"Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,
It gives me great honour to stand before you today as the Chief Launcher of the Delta State Security Trust Fund — a landmark initiative that reflects our shared resolve to make Delta safer, stronger, and more secure.

"Security is the cornerstone of sustainable development. No community, no investor, and indeed no government can thrive in an atmosphere of insecurity. What we are launching today goes beyond financial contribution — it is a strategic investment in peace, progress, and the protection of lives and property across our dear state.

"I must commend His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, for this visionary initiative, and the Security Council for institutionalizing a framework that allows public–private partnership in addressing our security challenges. This is the kind of proactive governance that transforms societies.

"As someone who has been deeply involved in security operations across the Niger Delta, I can say with conviction that securing our communities requires both resources and collaboration. It is therefore our collective responsibility — as citizens, business leaders, and stakeholders — to support this fund with sincerity and commitment.

"On my part, as Chief Launcher, I make my contribution today not just in naira value, but as a pledge of continued partnership and active collaboration towards a safer Delta.

"Together, let us build a state where our people can live without fear, where our children can dream freely, and where development can flourish without hindrance.

"Thank you, and may God bless Delta State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

The Delta Security Trust Fund launch, was attended by top government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, and business leaders, including the former group managing director (GMD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Access Bank Plc, as well as founder and chairman of Coronation Group Limited and its affiliates, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, who was the Chairman of the occasion; a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Marvel Akpoyibo, who delivered the keynote address, and founder and former Chairman of Zenith Bank Nig. Plc, Mr. Jim Ovia, who delivered a goodwill message, in which he commended Governor Oborevwori's foresight and described the Security Trust Fund as a bold and forward-looking initiative.


Tompolo’s appearance marked his first formal public engagement with the government in years, attracting significant attention from political observers and community leaders.

DELTA BANS CIVIL SERVANTS FROM WEARING BUSHY BEARDS, ARTIFICIAL HAIR, OTHERS; SETS DOWN OFFICIAL DRESS CODE

The Delta State Government has issued a new directive banning bushy beards, artificial braided or tainted hair, long eyelashes, fake nails, and other forms of what it calls “indecent appearance” among public servants. The ban was announced in a circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service, which stated that all public servants must now appear in neat, professional, and modest attire that reflects their level in the civil service. According to the circular, male civil servants are no longer allowed to grow bushy beards or wear certain traditional caps such as the “Resource Control” or “Papas” caps. Female staff are now prohibited from coming to work with artificial braided or dyed (tainted) hair, long eyelashes, and fake nails. The directive also provides updated dress code standards. DELTA BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF LANDMARK ASABA WATERFRONT CITY

Delta State Government has commenced construction of access road to the proposed Asaba waterfront city in the state capital.  Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who disclosed this during the inspection of the project on Tuesday, said the project was conceived by the previous administration through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model.  He said the state government’s role was to construct a 6-lane access road to the new city, while the developers were expected to reclaim the land and develop the city.  He said: "Asaba is becoming very attractive to property developers who are coming from Lagos to Asaba because Asaba today is housing most of those people from the South-East.  "They are coming here because they find Asaba very comfortable and they know that we are also hospitable.  "The Asaba waterfront city project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement between the state government and the developers.  "Our obligation is to reclaim the place to give ...
