BLGP Sensitisation Getting More Interesting
It was a full house in Isiokolo on Tuesday, October 14, as the train of the Bureau of Local Government Pensions stopped as the headquarters of Ethiope East Local Government Area in continuation of its sentisitisation and enlightenment programme for retired and retiring workers.
Chairman of the Bureau, Mr Benjamin Igo, was personally on hand to lead the team comprising of the Secretary, Mr Frank Atube, Director of Contributory Pension Scheme, Mr Peter Abor, and other officers of the Bureau, alongside representatives of the National Pension Commission, Pension Fund Administrators amongst other relevant institutional managers of the Local Government Contribitory Pension Scheme.
The turnout by members of the Contributory Pension Retirees, local government council workers, primary school teachers and officers of the Local Government Education Authority was equally massive.
While the Bureau officers and Pension Fund Administrators took took turns to enlighten the stakeholders on the processes of pension enrolment and management, a major highlight of the engagement was on how the stakeholders can access the opportunity for housing mortgage.
It was established that to be eligible, a subscribers Retirement Savings Account must be live for 60 months and up to date.
The sensitization and enlightenment tour is in its second week. The team will be in Orerokpe, headquaters of Okpe LGA on Wednesday, October 15, and proceed to Uvwie LGA on October 16.
