2027: Okowa, Nwaoboshi Meet Again To Strengthen Anioma Unity
In a major political development in Delta State, the two foremost Anioma leaders, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, have met to strengthen political collaboration and strategize ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The strategic meeting between the two leaders, coming hot on the heels of the unanimous endorsement of both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as sole candidates for their second terms in 2027, by the Delta All Progressives Congress, APC, took place at Senator Okowa’s residence in Asaba, was described as cordial and focused on charting a united course for the political advancement and development of the Anioma nation.
This is the second meeting of Senator Okowa and Senator Nwaoboshi, following their widely reported meeting in August this year, which was celebrated across Anioma nation as the historic reunion of the two titans of Delta North’s political landscape, whose unity of purpose had been temporarily truncated by a fleeting season of unavoidable impasse, now amicably resolved.
Both leaders, known for their experience, political maturity and deep grassroots connections, reportedly discussed ways to foster peace, unity and inclusive participation among stakeholders across Delta North.
Speaking after the meeting, sources close to the duo revealed that the discussion centered on ensuring that Anioma continues to play a central and united role in Delta State’s political affairs, particularly as preparations for 2027 intensify.
The meeting has been widely commended by political observers and supporters, who view it as a sign of renewed cooperation and mutual understanding between the two respected leaders.
Many believe that the coming together of Senator Okowa, the immediate past governor of Delta State, and Senator Nwaoboshi, a former Senate Committee Chairman on Niger Delta, will further consolidate Anioma’s political strength and unity ahead of future elections.
Their alliance is seen as a step toward sustaining progress, equity, and development across Delta North and the entire state.
