Lions Club Builds Eye and Dialysis Centres, Assists Thousands in Nigeria – DG Omonigho-Okoro
Dr. Omonigho-Okoro made this known during a courtesy visit to the General Manager and management team of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Asaba, where he outlined the impactful projects and services of the Lions Club.
He disclosed that the Eye Clinic built by Lions Club International in Warri has successfully carried out free eye operations on over 3,600 persons since its commissioning in 2023. In addition, Lions Club has established dialysis centres in Akure, Abeokuta, and other parts of Nigeria, bringing relief to people battling chronic health challenges.
“As a humanitarian club, we give relief materials to victims of flood disasters, assist in medical cases, and now, we are seeking a partnership with DBS to create awareness on the adverse effects of diabetes a root cause of blindness, arthritis, heart failure, and other ailments,” he stated.
Responding, the General Manager of DBS Asaba, Mrs. Christine Jobome Emetulu, commended the Lions Club DG for championing health advocacy and supporting initiatives that promote healthier and more productive lives. She emphasized that the proposed collaboration aligns with the MORE Agenda of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, particularly in healthcare delivery.
