EXCLUSIVE: Peter Obi Denies Plans To Return To PDP; Reaffirms Commitment To ADC Coalition

Statement by Peter Obi
29th July 2025

My fellow Nigerians,

In light of recent speculations and unfounded reports circulating in the media, I wish to categorically reaffirm my unwavering commitment to the coalition between the Labour Party and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Our shared vision remains rooted in building a new Nigeria one founded on justice, equity, accountability, and inclusive growth.

Let me be clear: I have no intention whatsoever of returning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), or to any political formation that does not fully align with our movement’s progressive values and the aspirations of millions of Nigerians yearning for real change.

My focus remains on strengthening the coalition we have formed one that is driven by young people, reform minded leaders, and citizens from all walks of life determined to reclaim our country from the grip of misgovernance.

This is not the time for political games or recycled narratives. It is time for unity, integrity, and a sincere commitment to the Nigerian project.

Our coalition stands as a credible and people focused alternative. We will continue to work tirelessly to present a transparent, competent, and compassionate leadership that puts Nigerians first.

Let us remain steadfast and focused. Together, we will build the Nigeria we deserve.

God bless you all,
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

– PO
