DELTA GOVT. WISHES DELTANS A MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Christmas is here once again with joyful celebrations and an overflowing of warmth, goodwill and kindness in commemoration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, which usually ushers in wonderful tidings of great joy to all mankind in this Yuletide season.

The Delta State Government, in its concerted effort to cushion the effects of the harsh economic realities of the times, has been completely faithful and committed to the delivery of good governance and the dividends of democracy to Deltans through the M.O.R.E Agenda, especially with the welfare initiatives and social security empowerment programmes, like the D.CARES, the M.O.R.E Grants Scheme and the M.O.R.E BIz-Up programme, amongst others, which have not only impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of Deltans across the three Senatorial zones positively, but have brought smiles to their faces and songs and dances of joy and happiness to their communities this Christmas time.

As we go about with our Christmas activities, let's us stay safe, law abiding, extend love to our friends and neighbours and be our brothers keepers, as we enjoy the Yuletide season in peace, unity and harmonious coexistence as one Delta.

- By Ike Philip Abiagom   As the festive season draws closer, residents of Asaba, Delta State, are being urged to stay vigilant following the emergence of a new and increasingly common trick used by Keke robbers to dispossess unsuspecting passengers of their mobile phones. According to multiple reports gathered across the metropolis, a syndicate operating with commercial tricycles has devised a coordinated method that exploits the trust and distraction of passengers. The scheme typically begins when a passenger boards a Keke already carrying two or three occupants. After moving a short distance—usually two or three electric poles—the driver suddenly brings the tricycle to a halt, pretending that the Keke has developed a mechanical fault. Gov. Oborevwori Suspends Rector, Bursar of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku for Six Months

Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, in his capacity as Visitor to the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, has approved the immediate suspension of the institution’s Rector and Bursar for a period of six months.  He also upheld the earlier suspension of the Registrar by the Polytechnic’s Governing Council.   A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, explained that the suspension of the principal officers is to allow for a thorough and unbiased investigation into allegations of administrative misconduct and financial breaches levelled against them by the Governing Council.   The statement further directed that the Deputy Rector shall act as Rector during the six-month suspension period, while the most senior accountant in the Bursary Department will serve as Acting Bursar for the same duration.
