CELEBRATING A HISTORIC MILESTONE AND CONGRATULATING THE NEWLY ELECTED NUJ NATIONAL PRESIDENT

The National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Rivers State Chapter, celebrates a groundbreaking moment in the history of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) with the election of Dr. (Mrs.) Abimbola Oyetunde as the first female Deputy National President of the NUJ. Her victory at the just-concluded NUJ National Elections in Owerri marks a significant achievement for gender inclusivity and empowerment in leadership. This accomplishment is a source of immense pride and a beacon of inspiration for women across the nation.

NAWOJ Rivers State Chapter also extends its hearty congratulations to Alhaji Alhassan Yahaya on his election as the National President of the NUJ. His emergence as the leader of our great union reflects his dedication and commitment to advancing the ideals of journalism in Nigeria. We are confident that his tenure will bring about positive transformation, unity, and progress for the NUJ.

As they assume their new roles, NAWOJ Rivers State Chapter pledges its unwavering support and collaboration in the pursuit of excellence in journalism and the promotion of equity and professionalism in the industry.

Comrade Ifeanyi Egwuyenga, Delta State Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer (CJWCO) The Delta State Government has, on Friday, October 25, 2024, announced massive job creation opportunities for citizens and residents of the State. As the agitation for the creation of Anioma state intensifies, an Anioma Stakeholder Summit has been organised by the office of the Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, in Asaba the Delta State capital. Tagged the Renewed Quest for the creation of Anioma State, the Summit drew critical stakeholders in the Anioma region including serving and past political leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, women and youths.
