BMSSPOBA Class Of 2004 Marks 20th Anniversary With School Donations

Boys Model Secondary School Patani Old Boys Association (BMSSPOBA), Class of 2004 jubilantly celebrated their 20th Graduation anniversary and homecoming on Wednesday 25th September, 2024 at their alma mater in Patani, Delta State. 

The event, filled with nostalgia and generosity, showcased the enduring spirit and commitment of these distinguished alumni of one of the most successful Model Secondary schools in Delta State. 

In a remarkable display of gratitude and solidarity, the Class of 2004 doled out over a million naira donating two complete grass cutting machine kits to the school. 

Each kit, meticulously crafted to support the school's upkeep, included essential items such as brush cutters, trimmer lines, chain author cutters, rain boots, coveralls, reflective jackets, helmets, and face shields. 

This gesture underscored their dedication to enhancing the school's environment and ensuring its habitability for current and future students. 

The celebration was not only about giving back materially but also about recognizing and encouraging excellence within the school community with cash prizes awarded to outstanding students across various classes, the neatest student, and deserving teachers, among others. 

These accolades served as an agreement to the Class of 2004's commitment to fostering academic and personal growth among the school's stakeholders. 

During the event, the Alumni took an emotional journey down memory lane, reminiscing about their formative years at the school. 

They shared inspiring stories and imparted valuable advice to current students, urging them to uphold the school's values which is embedded in her motto *"Excellence through Industry"* and excel in their studies. 

Mrs. Joyce Kenerekedi, The Principal of Boys Model Secondary School Patani, in her heartfelt address, expressed profound gratitude to the Class of 2004 for their transformative impact on the school. 

She highlighted the significance of their donation and praised the efforts of *Mr. Wilson Goru, the President of BMSSPOBA Worldwide* who is also a member of the celebrating class of 2004, for his continuous support and initiatives aimed at revitalizing the school. 

Worthy of mention is his donation of a 5,000 Liters water project to the school providing staff and students with clean drinking water  after many years of not having water. She also acknowledged the national body for their recent contributions, including a new toilet project, which significantly improved the school's infrastructure. 

Mrs. Kenerekedi also outlined critical needs of the school, which include but not limited to fencing, employment of laborers and security personnel, additional teachers and teachers quarters, science equipment, and an upgraded library. She appealed to the alumni and community stakeholders for further support in these areas to ensure the school's continued growth and success. 

In a symbolic gesture of community engagement, the visiting Old Boys also paid a courtesy call on *HRM Barr. Peremobowei Shadrack Erebulu Aduo III,* the revered Pere of Kabowei Kingdom and an esteemed member of the Boys Model Secondary School Patani Old Boys Association. The Pere commended the Class of 2004 for their exemplary homecoming celebration and their dedication to supporting their alma mater. He encouraged other graduating classes to emulate their altruism and commitment to educational excellence. 

As the event concluded, the atmosphere was charged with optimism and renewed commitment towards the school's future. The Class of 2004 left a lasting legacy, not only through their generous donations but also through their unwavering dedication to fostering positive change within their community. 

With pledges for further support resonating through the air, the Boys Model Secondary School Patani looks forward to a brighter future, bolstered by the enduring bond between its alumni and its promising students.
