ABONNEMA COUNCIL OF CHIEFS HOLDS MONTHLY MEETING, HOSTS NEW CTC CHAIRMAN, BITEBOBO AMIEYE; APP CHAIRMANSHIP CANDIDATE, VICE
On behalf of the revered King of Abonnema, His Majesty, King DIsrael Gbobo Bob-Manuel, Owukori the IX, the Paramount Head of Oruwari Briggs group of War Canoe House of Abonnema, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs and other leaders of the Abonnema council of Chiefs, led the monthly Abonnema council of Chiefs meeting.
While addressing the council, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs noted that, the meeting which was fixed for every first Saturday of the every month was brought forward because of the forthcoming Local Government Council elections in the State, come 5th October, 2024, and the leadership of the council deemed it fit that it is necessary for them to obey the laws of the State, as such, became law abiding enough for them to partake and be certain of a hitch free Local Government Council elections.
He explained that, this is what the King has directed, a direction the leadership of the council has to follow, in the course of which outcome the CTC chairman, Hon. (Chief) Bitebobo Nelson Amieye Georgewill, the chairmanship candidate of APP, Hon. Mrs Tonye Oniyide Briggs and her Vice, duly presented themselves to the council, to ask for their blessings and counsel to lead the LGA to greater heights.
While presenting themselves, the CTC chairman thanked the council for the privilege to serve as the CTC chairman, thanked them for the council's support and prayers in his brief stay, and asked that they should continue in such regard, as well as support the leadership that will takeover from him.
In her speech, the APP chairmanship candidate also reiterated that, she will always open her door to their wise counsels, adding that, without them she cannot successfully lead AKULGA when given the privilege to lead. That their continuous prayers and counsels remains her priority, a light that will guide and guard a better and successful AKULGA.
On his part, the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Tammy W. Danagogo advised that, because there is no society that succeeds without the sacrificial consciousness of a peaceful coexistence, there is a need for the council to always work with the leadership of the Local Government Council, noting that, it is with such synergy that a community like theirs can progressively succeed.
Opuda Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs thanked them for presenting themselves to the council, and stated that, such act is not only remarkable, but a honour to the effect that indeed Abonnema is headed towards her desired destination, because they have today acknowledged that, wisdom from the elders is profitable to direct.
It was indeed a successful meeting that witnessed the significance of Humility, Love, Unity and a hunger for a progressive AKULGA.
