Rivers LG Elections 2024: RSIEC INSPECTION TEAM VISITS STATE ACCORD SECRETARIAT

As the 2024 Local Government Area Council elections in Rivers State draw nigh, the Rivers State Independent Election Commission inspection (RSIEC)Team visits the State Party Secretariat of Rivers Accord. 

In the spirit of the commissions' readiness in conducting a free, fair and credible Local Government Council elections, come 5th October, 2024, the commission's 

 inspection Team mandated to inspect and confirm the preparedness of registered parties in the State, especially those that have declared interest, arrived at the doorstep of the Rivers Accord Today, 24th July, 2024. 


On arrival, the team met the Party's State executives, and stated the purpose for their visit. 


According to them, they were there to confirm how ready the party was, having shown interest to participate in the elections. The leadership of the team added that, aside submitting documentations of interest, the commission deemed it necessary to confirm compliance of readiness to participate, vis-a-vis getting the office busy, ready and prepared by all standards as prescribed by the commission. 


In response, the State chairman of the party, Chief Dr Nnanna Onyekwere thanked the team for coming, and assured them of the party's 100% readiness, compliance and willingness to be part of the change deserving of the State.  


To buttress his confidence to the conviction of the visiting team, he pointed out that, as they can see, they met a full house of the party's strategic meeting between members State executive body and the 23 Local Government party chairmen, to make certain they leave no stone unturned in having a successful participation at the polls. He added that, the commission has nothing to worry about, for Rivers Accord is fully prepared and has already hit the ground running. 


The State party chairman and some members of the executive body, then led the visiting team on an inspection tour round the party's State Secretariat, to which the visiting Team expressed an overwhelming satisfaction.  


In reaction, they appreciated the party's readiness, especially as it bothers on the conspicuous presence of all 23 Accord Party chairmen. According to them, this can only be described as complete seriousness, preparedness and readiness. They wished the party a successful outcome at the polls, and advised them to be peaceful and always law abiding.
