10,000 Widows Receive February Stipend As Okonta Leads Prayer Sessions Across Delta
About 10,000 widows under the Delta State Widows Welfare Scheme have received their February 2026 monthly stipends from the Delta State Government, as beneficiaries across the three senatorial districts offered prayers and thanksgiving for Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. Coordinator of the Delta State Widows Welfare Scheme and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Social Investment Programmes, Elder Isioma Okonta, led members of the scheme’s management team on a tour of the senatorial districts for special prayer sessions in appreciation of the governor’s continued support for vulnerable widows in the state. Speaking during the visit to Delta Central Senatorial District in Okpe Local Government Area, Okonta highlighted the importance of the Widows Welfare Scheme, noting that the initiative had continued to alleviate the suffering of many vulnerable widows across the state.
