Delta state Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza, has congratulated former Delta state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on his recent appointment as Lead Coordinator, South-South Renewed Hope Initiative, By Pres. Tinubu.

The congratulatory message which was personally signed by Dr. Osuoza reads:

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his well-deserved appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the Lead Coordinator, South-South, of the Renewed Hope Initiative. This appointment is not only a personal honour to Dr. Okowa but also a significant acknowledgement of the depth of his leadership, his wealth of experience, and his enduring commitment to the advancement of our nation.

Dr. Okowa’s political journey and public service record have consistently reflected excellence, inclusiveness, and a profound dedication to human and infrastructural development. DELTA BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF LANDMARK ASABA WATERFRONT CITY

Delta State Government has commenced construction of access road to the proposed Asaba waterfront city in the state capital.  Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who disclosed this during the inspection of the project on Tuesday, said the project was conceived by the previous administration through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model.  He said the state government’s role was to construct a 6-lane access road to the new city, while the developers were expected to reclaim the land and develop the city.  He said: "Asaba is becoming very attractive to property developers who are coming from Lagos to Asaba because Asaba today is housing most of those people from the South-East.  "They are coming here because they find Asaba very comfortable and they know that we are also hospitable.  "The Asaba waterfront city project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement between the state government and the developers.  "Our obligation is to reclaim the place to give ...

Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas CFR was born on 27th of September 1960. He is a retired Navy vice admiral, who was the 22nd Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of the Nigerian Navy from 2015 to 2021. Ibas was born in Nko, Cross River State. He enlisted into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of 26 Regular Course on 20 June 1979 and was commissioned sub-lieutenant on 1 January 1983. He began his primary education at Nko Primary School, Nko, in 1966 and completed at Big Qua Primary School, Calabar in 1971. He then proceeded to the prestigious Hope Waddell Training Institute Calabar from 1972 to 1976.
